Unique Hebrew Preposition - ?את?
The preposition ? את?does not have an equivalent in English and it
already appears twice in the first verse of the Bible.
? ואת ָה ָא ֶרץ?,? את ַה ָש ַמ ִים?,? ָב ָרא ֱאֹל ִהים?,?ב ֵרא ִשית?
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
? ֶאת?is used in Hebrew when the verb has a specific object – a
proper noun (such as "Israel") or a common noun with a definite
article (such as "the country").
