                     Once Every Four Years

Anyone who would be asked how many days there are in a year, will
immediately answer three hundred and sixty five. Except that a more
accurate answer would be three hundred sixty five and a quarter. This is
exactly the differences that creates the additional day in the month of
February, leap day. Hen was born in [the year of] two thousand eight, and
even though she’ll be eight years old tomorrow, she’ll be celebrating her
exact birthday for the second time only. February twenty-ninth, as we all
know, is marked once every four years. There is a custom that states that
on this day women propose to men. Orin and Daniel will walk down the
isle tomorrow on the special date. Behind the romantic decision, they tell,
is also a financial explanation. Companies all over the world take
advantage of this day in order to create a buzz surrounding a new product
or sale they’re having. Hen already thinks about her Bat Mitzvah on
February twenty ninth, two thousand twenty, but first she’ll celebrate the
birthday she has tomorrow.
