The End to Amos Six
The American launch pad Falcon Nine exploded during checkups in
Florida, two days before launch. Along with the launch pad the Israeli
communication satellite Amos Six exploded too. Hundreds of people at the
Israeli Spacecom company worked for years on the satellite, which cost
about two hundred million dollars and is the biggest (they’ve) built in
Israel so far. Amos Six was supposed to participate in a big project by
Facebook and supply broadband internet to Africa. Now it’s uncertain that
there would be a demand for satellites from Israel. The end of Amos Six
might also be the end of the Israeli space industry.
