Want to Lose Weight

Lia, Alon and Noam are school children who are [lit. suffer from]
overweight already at a young age. Each of them tries to lose weight in
their own way – a diet, sports or help from parents. The number of
overweight children in Israel has increased times two in the past twenty
years. Already in first grade every fifth child is overweight. One of the
greatest difficulties for overweight children is the treatment (they get) from
others. In our world it is beautiful to be thin, and the children want to
change because they feel that only this way (people) would love them. For
instance, Noam diets to be fit on his Bar Mitzvah photos. He’s already lost
seven kilos, but he’s still embarrassed to take (his) shirt off at the beach
and still feels that he’s a fat kid.
