You thought big money and environmentalism don't go together? Think
again. Josh Arnold came here from the United States, to teach [the]

Israelis that by means of green building one can save a fortune, and save

the world on the way. It's enough to position [the] houses in the right
angle towards the sun, and the dollars will flow on their own.

                   -Avinadav Vitkon

The bad news for our planet, that is becoming warmer and warmer, come
from the east. It's nice to hear that in China they decided to fight the

nylon bags and ration them out to the citizens, but when (people) look at

that Chinese economic growth data, or hear about a new popular vehicle
that is being launched in India for the masses of laborers, there is no

reason to stop worrying. This, of course, is only the addition to the

already severe situation: The growing world economy is swallowing up
more and more raw materials; more and more products that are

indispensible and whose consumption is polluting the world – and the

feeling is that the economy and its spokespeople won't let the train switch
to greener tracks. America, [the] globalization and the aggressive

marketing of the American dream to Third World countries are seen as
responsible for the globe's miserable and polluted future.

Apparently it is possible (to go about things) differently, even without
shedding off globalization. In the United States and interesting wave has

been forming in recent years, connecting between a green outlook of

environmental conservation [of conserving the environment] and the
continuation of capitalist-style economic prosperity. One of the leaders of

this line is Josh Arnold, an expert of sustainable development – i.e. one

that doesn't deplete (natural) resources and isn't disposable, but rather
blends in with the environment and saves the reserves of land, air, water

and other natural resources for the coming generations. Two weeks ago

he came to the country for a round of lectures on the subject of green
building, under the title "Capitalism's Greatest Opportunity". Arnold,

guest of the Israeli Council for Green Building, which is being created
these very days, is a senior consultant of the equivalent American
