Neveh Tzedek – The Little Paris

In 1887 Rabbi Aharon Shlush buys a large (piece of) territory, close
to Jaffa. He lets new immigrants build a house on this territory. Many
important people build their home [house] there: Artists like Nahum
Guttman, Authors like S.Y. Agnon, Poets like Brenner and Rabbis
like Rabbi Kook.
People in Neve Tzedek have much [a lot of] spirit, but not a lot of
money. And truly, old Neve Tzedak is a small neighborhood, without
money, but its spirit is great.
Until this day [today], Neve Tzedak is a neighborhood with a great
spirit, but in today’s Neve Tzedek live people with a lot of money.
The houses are expensive and beautiful, and in the restaurants there
is expensive and good food.
