Story – In the Demonstration
Osnat: Danny, where were you?
Danny: I was next to the Prime Minister's house.
Osnat: What were you doing there?
Danny: I was demonstrating with all of my friends from the university.
Osnat: You (pl.) were demonstrating? Why were you demonstrating?
Danny: We were demonstrating because the government wants to charge [to take] a
lot of money from the students for the studies at the university.
Osnat: I see [I understood]… Did you know all the students who were at the
demonstration?
Danny: No, I didn’t know all of them, there were students from all over the country
there. Students from Jerusalem came [arrived], from Tel-Aviv,
and even students from Haifa arrived at the demonstration.
Osnat: Wow! And did the Minister of Education arrive?
Danny: Yes, he arrived. Lots of politicians arrived.
Osnat: Okay, so I understand that you are happy that you went to the demonstration?
Danny: Not so much… When we were at the demonstration, we felt good.
We felt like [that] we are doing something important. But then there were students
who started to make a mess and didn’t stop.
Osnat: And…?
Danny: We told them to stop, but they continued…And then the police came and we
needed to stop the demonstration and go.
Osnat: Why did you invite these students to the demonstration, if they make a mess?
Danny: We didn’t invite (them). No one invited them. They came because they
wanted (to).
Osnat: Oh… too bad… well, you know what they say: “everything will be fine”.
Danny: Yeah, it'll be fine.
