         Definite Article "The" = ‫ה‬

‫ה‬In Hebrew we add the letter in front of a word, when we want to specify

it – same as “The” (definite article) in English.

    Example: A teacher = ‫מֹו ֶרה‬, The teacher = ‫ַהמֹו ֶרה‬

Saying my, your, etc. is actually causing specification.

‫ה‬That's why we need to use the as in ‫( ַה ְמ ַנ ֵהל ֶש ִלי‬my manager / boss)

Exercise - structure 1: Write down the following questions in Hebrew using

structure 1, and answer them.

Structure 1.

Who is your (NOUN)?  ?‫ ׁ ֶּש ָלְך‬/ ‫( ׁ ֶּש ְלָך‬NOUN) ‫ִמי ַה‬
