A Nobel Prize for Bob Dylan
The announcement by the Swedish Academy on Thursday surprised many
people: Bob Dylan will receive the Nobel Prize in Literature this year. Not
everyone thinks that the American musician really deserves to receive the
most important prize in the world of literature. Bob Dylan was born as
Robert Allen Zimmerman to a family of Jewish immigrants in Minnesota,
played Folk and Country, and became famous in the sixties with the song
‘Blowing in the Wind’, which became the anthem of the Civil Rights
Movement in America. At the Swedish Academy (they) said that Dylan,
who even at the age of seventy five still writes and plays, is one of the
greatest living poets today.
