The New Cameras
It’s been four days since the new cameras on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv
highway started working, and the police are already saying that the number
of accidents has gone down. The new cameras take pictures of drivers who
are talking or fiddling with their cell phone while driving. So how does
this work? There are police officers who see the video in real-time and at
the end of the day can give an electronic ticket without delaying the driver
or other cars on the road. Up until now (they) already gave out six
thousand tickets with eighty cameras. The police intend on adding another
hundred cameras at least, already in the near future.
