NM Unit 5
In Hebrew, the numbers have different masculine and feminine forms. Most
people in Israel do not pay particular attention to the use of gender with regard
to numbers, and only use the feminine form.
Example:
Feminine Masculine
one girl ת ַח ַא ה ָׁדְׁלַי one boy ד ָׁח ֶא דֶלֶי
two girls תוֹד ָׁלְׁי י ֵת ְׁש two boys םי ִד ָׁלְׁי יֵנ ְׁש
five women םישָׁנ ִ ש ֵמ ָׁח five men םי ִשָׁנא ֲ ה ָׁש ִמֲח
