Structure:
I have, … I don't have…
יִל ןי ֵא ,יִל שֵי
In English the expression I have, you have etc. contains a pronoun followed by the verb
"have". In Hebrew this expression is built differently. The verb "to have" is expressed
by, שֵי" " and the pronouns: I, you, he etc. are expressed by: ,וֹל ךָ , ְל יִל etc.. Similarly for
don't, doesn't etc. we use in Hebrew ןי ֵא –
English תי ִר ְב ִע English תי ִר ְב ִע
I don't have יִל ןי ֵא I have יִל שֵי
you don't have (m.) ךָ ְׁל ןי ֵא you have (m.) ךְָׁל שֵי
you don't have (f.) ךְ ָׁל ןי ֵא you have (f.) ךְָׁל שֵי
he doesn't have וֹל ןי ֵא he has וֹל שֵי
she doesn't have ה ָׁל ןי ֵא she has הָּׁל שֵי
we don't have וּנל ָׁ ןי ֵא we have וּנָׁל שֵי
you don't have (pl.) םֶכ ָׁל ןי ֵא you have (pl.) םֶכָׁל שֵי
they don't have ם ֶהָׁל ןי ֵא they have ם ֶהָׁל שֵי
