7. Act Out
The Room of the Big Escape
After we saw all kinds of rooms in the prison, here in room
number 23, here happened one of the most special stories that
won't shame even Hollywood [literally: that even in Hollywood
they won't be ashamed of it].
On Kaf Tet of November 1947 a very important resolution for the
Jewish People is made at the UN, and afterwards a war breaks
out. But what do the prisoners do? [They] want to participate in
the war outside, but they are stuck here in the prison. Their
bothers, their friends, their girlfriends - everyone is fighting
outside and they are here - lying down, sleeping, eating. Outside
there is war! And they are stuck here… What to do? How can
they help?
And then, in this room, the prisoners think and decide - we must
escape.
