 4 Danny Sanderson th Danny Sanderson (born November 30 1950) is an Israeli singer, musician, writer, songwriter, composer and musical producer. Receiver of the ACUM prize. Considered to be one of the forefathers of Israeli rock. Previously a member of the ensembles “Kaveret”, “Gazoz” and “Duda”, among others. Sanderson was born in Kfar Blum and was raised in Haifa, Savyon and New York. During his childhood he was taught to play guitar and banjo by his uncle, and was influenced by different musical styles through his various relatives. In 1967 Sanderson enlisted to the IDF, to the ‘Nachal’ band. In the end of 1972 he started the “Kaveret” band, the most well-known Israeli rock band, for which he wrote most of the songs. Sanderson is characterized with a unique sense of humor, which is also expressed in the band’s songs and in funny and fascinating concerts. th On February 28 2006 Sanderson received ACUM’s life work prize for a composer.
