Daniel: So, Shira…
Shira: Yes?
Daniel: Now you know why I’m making aliyah to Israel. You know that I’m a bit
of an Israeli and a bit of a gentleman, and I know that you’re pretty and
sweet, and that’s it.
Shira: What? Pretty and sweet isn’t enough?
Daniel: It’s a lot, but I want to know more.
Shira: Ok… What do you want to know?
Daniel: I want to know where you’re returning from now.
Shira: I’m returning from a trip in Thailand.
Daniel: Well, of course.
Shira: Why [what] ‘of course’?
Daniel: All Israelis travel to Thailand after the army, don’t they?
Shira: Not all Israelis… Half travel to South America.
Daniel: But everybody travels.
Shira: Not everybody, but a lot.
Daniel: How long were you in Thailand?
Shira: Half a year.
Daniel: Wow, that’s so much fun!
Shira: Yeah, loads of fun.
Daniel: And what do you want to do now?
Shira: How should I know? Maybe work…
Daniel: Do you want to go to university?
Shira: Yes, but not now. I don’t know what I want to study.
Daniel: You know, it’s very interesting. In America, we go to college at the age
of 18. In Israel, people go to the army, afterwards travel to Thailand and
afterwards think for a year or two (about) what they want to do.
Shira: What, is that a problem?
Daniel: No, what are you talking about?! It’s not a problem at all. It’s not like in
America, but it’s not a problem. It’s interesting.
Daniel: It’s really fun speaking with you, Shira.
Shira: Thanks, with you too.
Daniel: Maybe you’d like that… Could I get your phone number?
Driver: Mevaseret! Get off fast please!
Shira: Oh, I have to get off.
Daniel: What? But…
Driver Come on, quickly!
Shira: Ok… Daniel… goodbye!
