The Giro in Israel
This week the big bicycle race, Giro d’Italia, comes to Israel for the first
time. Many people work day and night for this race. A hundred and
seventy six bicycle riders come from all over the world: America,
Australia, France, Germany, Italy and even Bahrein. There are even two
Israelis who participate in the race, Guy Sagiv and Guy Niv. All of the
participants ride four hundred and ten kilometers in Israel, from Haifa to
Eilat. After Israel they fly to Italy, where they finish the race at the Vatican
on May twenty seventh.
