Passing on Red is Expensive
Seventy two people were killed since the beginning of the year in car
accidents. Everything the police did up until now hasn’t helped, so as of
today every fine for a violation on the road will cost us more money. For
instance – anyone who passes a red (traffic) light will pay a thousand and
five hundred NIS. If someone drives without a license, he’ll pay a
thousand NIS, and if someone rides a bicycle on the sidewalk, he’ll pay
two hundred and fifty NIS. In Israel (they) think that if people [will] pay a
lot of money, they’ll think twice (about) how they’re driving, and maybe
this way the number of car accidents would be smaller.
