Tikkun of the Night of Shavuot
Akiva: On Shavuot they hold in our synagogue a ‘Tikkun of the
Night of Shavuot’.

Inbal: What is a Tikkun of the Night of Shavuot?

Akiva: People sit and learn Torah all night.

Inbal: All night? Why?

Akiva: Because on Shavuot the Israelites received the Torah and
we want to say thank you to God and show Him that we are
happy to learn Torah.

Inbal: And at the end of the night you go to sleep?

Akiva: No, in the morning everyone goes together to pray at the
Kotel.
