Residents in Rural Areas
In two thousand eleven the state of Israel signs a deal with intern doctors.
According to the agreement, doctors who go to do their residency in rural
areas get three hundred thousand NIS. The country wants to strengthen
medicine in rural areas, and it actually works. One thousand and eight
hundred excellent doctors go to do their residency in the Negev and
Galilee. But now the government wants to cancel this agreement. Dr.
Shany Kaptson moves from Herzliya to Be’er Sheva with her family, in
order to work at the Soroka hospital. But she can’t get the money that
should help her with her new life in the Negev.
