The Train Track Park
At the end of the 19th century, the Ottomans are ruling [in] the
country. In order to connect between Jerusalem and the coast they
build a train track.
To the side of the train track (they) build neighborhoods, such as
Bakaa, Katamon and the Arab village Beit Safafa.
When (they) close the train, no one looks over the track, and it
becomes a dirty place with a lot of garbage.
In recent years, the municipality makes a beautiful park in the area of
the train track, with lanes for bicycles and pedestrians, flowers and
trees.
One can walk on the track and drink coffee at the train station, visit
the beautiful Katamon, drink orange juice in Beit Safafa and watch a
soccer game at Malcha.
If you have the energy, you can get up at 5 AM and run together with
the hundreds of people who run and walk every morning in the train
track park.
