London, the year 1912. Professor Higgins and his good friend colonel Pickering are touring
the city’s streets. Suddenly they notice a young flower girl. The flower girl’s speech is loud
and vulgar. Professor Higgins tells his friend the colonel that he is certain that he would
succeed to teach the flower girl to speak English well, just like a lady. The colonel doesn’t
think it's possible. The professor is leaving [separate from] his friend and goes back to his
home.

The next day Eliza, a young flower girl, shows up at Professor Higgins’ House. She explains
that she heard the professor and the colonel talking about her, and she asks the distinguished
professor to teach her to speak English well so she could work in a bookstore. Professor
Higgins agrees to teach Eliza and they begin studying together.

After long months of hard work, the professor introduces Eliza at the ball of all the important
people in London. Eliza behaves and speaks like a truly dignified lady, and one of the guests in
the ball, a phonetic professor, even thinks that Eliza is a princess! Pickering and Higgins are
happy because their project succeeded but ignore Eliza and her feelings. Sad and angry, she goes
back to the flower market but realizes that she is no longer the same woman she used to be and
that's why she can't fit in with the people in the poor neighborhood in which she grew up. And the
worst thing – she is in love with the professor, and he doesn't even notice her…
