The Future of Shopping
What do you do when you’re home and suddenly realize you’re out of
milk? At Amazon (they) think that in a few years we’ll just open the app,
order the food we want, and a drone will bring it to us in a few minutes. In
order to do this, Amazon bought the big Whole Foods chain this week, for
thirteen billion and seven hundred million dollars. It’s possible that in a
few years at Whole Foods supermarkets there won’t be registers anymore.
In Seattle there’s already a smart supermarket that knows what we took off
the shelf, and it automatically puts it on your shopping list. So after the
clothes, the electronics and books, Amazon is now taking over our food
too.
