Exercise: Act out the dialogue in Hebrew while looking at the English
text. Use other names than in the original dialogue when acting out.
Dialogue – At the Marketplace (Fruit)
Sara: Wow, wonderful, there are so many fruit here.
Dor: Yes, there are many beautiful fruit here.
Sara: What’s that?
Dor: It’s an apple.
Sara: And this?
Dor: That’s also an apple, a green apple.
Sara: How much are the apples?
Dor: Ten shekels.
Sara: I want a kilogram of apples. And what are these?
Dor: That’s a melon, and that’s a watermelon. Those are grapes,
peaches and pears.
Sara: Your fruit are big, beautiful and fresh. I want a melon, half
a watermelon and a kilogram of grapes. How much is that?
Dor: Here are your fruit. Everything together is 87 shekels.
Sara: Here’s a hundred.
Dor: Here’s thirteen shekels, thank you, have a nice day.
Sara: Thank you and good bye, your fruit are very beautiful, and
you’re a nice man.
Dor: Thank you.
