A Woman Driving
After many years of a feminist struggle, women in Saudi can be happy,
King Salman gave women the right to drive. Up until today, the Saudi
woman was dependent on a man, and couldn’t drive on her own, even if
she was a university professor. King Salman and his son want to make an
economic reform, and they say that for this they need a lot of working
women who can drive. There are many more restrictions over women in
Saudi, like restrictions on clothing, but this is a beginning. And if
everything works right, in a few months the women in Saudi will set out
on a new path.
