The Chinese are Coming

An apartment building in two weeks at minimal cost – this is what the CEO of the Chinese
construction company Everbright is promising. The company, located in Beijing, is one of five
construction companies from China and another one from Portugal, which the Ministry of
Construction and Ministry of Treasury chose out of fifty companies from all over the world, to
build in Israel. Saudi Arabia, Ghana and Malaysia are just a few of the countries the Chinese
Everbright has already built in. Everbright’s construction method – the Lego method, slabs (they)
make in a factory and just assemble at the construction site – can give a cheap and quick solution to
Israel’s housing problem. If this project will succeed, the Ministry of Construction will let other
companies enter the Israeli housing market too.
