The Islamic heritage is considered as one
of the aspects of the nation’s personal and
collective innovation throughout the ages. It
is the best expression of its cultural identity.

The written sources left by our ancestors
represent the cornerstone of heritage studies.
These include documents and manuscripts
providing a comprehensive picture of various
aspects of life with extinction risks. Museums
are the most important institutions that
work to revive and develop heritage through
collection, stocktaking, and research. This is
indeed what the National Public Museum of
Islamic Calligraphy in Tlemcen has been doing
since its establishment in 2012, focusing on
everything related to calligraphy.
