A. Introduction
1. Brief description
In this teaching material, we will discuss one type of text in English,
namely, Recount Text. In learning a language, of course, an understanding of
the variety of texts is very obligatory to understand, including English. And of
course, every type of text in English has its structure, function, and
characteristics. Recount text itself is a text that contains exposure in the past
which is then rewritten into a text. The structure of the recount text is
introduction/orientation, event, and resolution. Each structure has its parts
which, if put together, will form a unified text that can be read and enjoyed.
Recount text is indeed one of the texts whose purpose is to entertain and
provide information for its readers. Because recount text usually contains
descriptions of past events that are rewritten, the tenses used are the simple
past tense. All of these text components must be able to be continuous with
each other to become a good recount text.
2. Relevancy
This teaching material contains an explanation of recount text which includes
the meaning, structure, social function, and linguistic elements. After studying
this teaching material, students are expected to be able to understand and
understand what recount text and its components are.

The purpose of learning this teaching material is that students can understand
the meaning of recount text and its components, analyze the structure and
