In May, 126 employees from across the country made their way to Jacksonville for the 2018 FNF Leadership Program. Although this year’s two-and-a-half day event was not your typical FNF Leadership Program, it was still chock full of educational sessions, executive presentations, manager meetings and the highly anticipated awards ceremony.
For more than 20 years, the FNF Leadership Program’s mission has been to identify and develop future leaders, while helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the expectations and culture of the Company. While the signature Leadership track was still a main focus of the event, this year’s event also featured two new tracks: an Orientation track and a New County Managers track. “We realized that there were many people in our organization that would benefit from a lot of the information we shared during our annual Leadership Program, but they were already managers themselves. This realization led to the creation of the two new tracks,” said Joe Grealish, Division Manager, and one-half of the facilitating team of this year’s Leadership Program.
The Orientation track, led by Joe Grealish, was made up of key employees who recently joined the Company, either individually or as part of an acquisition. Orientation track members participated in an overview of many of FNF’s key departments, including CINC/Real Geeks/SkySlope, EC Purchasing, Underwriting, Technology and Compliance. They also attended educational sessions on prospecting, recruiting and retention, financial metrics and strategic budgeting, led by regional and divisional managers within the Company.
The New County Manager track, led by Jim John, Regional Manager (and the other half of the Leadership Program facilitating duo), participated in two sessions of round table discussions. “We wanted an opportunity to connect with managers that were newer to the Company and learn how we can better help them and future County Managers,” remarked Jim John. The first group of discussions centered on various FNF departments like Technology, Underwriting
and Compliance. The second group of discussions gave the new County Managers a chance to discuss what they have learned about being a County Manager and what would be useful to pass on to future County Managers.
2018 Program’s Play-by-Play
Joe Grealish welcomed everyone during the first full day’s general session. Randy Quirk, CEO of FNF, provided attendees with an overview of the Company while Tony Park, Chief Financial Officer of FNF, shared information about the financial aspects of FNF and provided an investor’s perspective on FNF. After a short break, attendees participated in several break-out sessions according to their specific track.
The second full day began with an opening address from Jim John. After a keynote presentation from Apolo Ohno, eight-time medalist in short track speed skating at the Winter Olympics, the traditional Leadership track began their manager report presentations. Participants in the Orientation track attended their educational sessions while the New County Manager track met for a roundtable discussion at FNF headquarters.
The final day drew to a close with a dinner and awards ceremony led by Joe Grealish and Jim John. All attendees received awards for completion of the program and additional recognition was given for those Leadership track participants who gave the best manager presentations. Winners and facilitators for each Leadership group included:
