Kiko Caine and Paco Halen held down the rhythm section with tremendous tightness and never lost step with
the marvelous Metalachi musical arrangements. Wearing 80’s style garb, the rhythmic dynamic duo passionately
performed with an earnest and stealth, moving deftly, as if the border patrol was hot in pursuit. “Hot For
Teacher,” with its unforgettable drum intro sound, when played on Paco Halen’s nylon string guitar, took on a
whole new level of fun when Queen Kyla played it with an Eddie Van Halen hammer-on style on her fiddle.

The jokes rained all through the night. These guys are the Cheech and Chong of rock and roll, delivering
wisecracks about sex and music, with the occasional female anatomy references. One such commentary
pertained to a “cougar’s” breast milk: “I love cougar chi chi's because at some point their milk turns into
Horchata (Mexican rice water)! <insert raucous laughter here> At every show, the band brings a woman on stage
and this time was no different. Vega, Kyla, and El Cucuy had their way with her, musically. While the band mildly
sexually pestered her, she cringed and turned slightly red, but loved every minute of it. At one point, she seemed
aroused and began groping all three members. Lucky!

        Metalachi finished with the
highlight of the night as Vega Pictured: Paco Halen
        perfectly imitated Metallica’s
        “Master of Puppets,” done
        mariachi-style. Amazingly
        entertaining! It was a great
        tribute to heavy metal. Metalachi
ended the song and the night with
        “El Mariachi,” a popular Robert
        Rodriguez movie theme song, a
        fitting adios for the evening’s
        festivities.

        Metalachi aims to entertain and
has put together a show that
        emphasizes their musical abilities,
        their humor, and elicits
        enthusiastic crowd interaction.
But at the heart of it, the band
        members are all incredibly
        talented. It’s also apparent that
        they genuinely enjoy their fans.
After the show, they all came out
        and greeted their adoring
        audience and took pictures until
        the place was empty.
