National Association of Music Merchants. We musicians, music store owners, music buyers, and plain old music gear
geeks know it as just NAMM. NAMM 2019 was as exciting as the past 9 years that I have attended. Once again, ION Indie
Magazine was on the scene to see what the latest and greatest in music gear and equipment that was being hyped this
year. Every piece of new music equipment that you can imagine from all over the world was there to “ooh” and “aah”
everyone. And those delicious musical sounds! There’s something really spectacular awaiting you once you enter the
building. And as usual, respected artists were there to help push their products once again.

A little something about where NAMM has been located since 1980 -- The Anaheim Convention Center is a huge
convention center located in California…and I mean, amazingly HUGE. And it’s conveniently located across from
the Disneyland Resort on Katella Avenue (for my enjoyment). With four floors in the main building, the arena and arena
technology building, and the new ACC North level one and level two, all in all, it’s freaking monstrous.

The run down is like this: Exhibit Hall Floor: 813,607 square feet. Breakout/Meeting Rooms: 81,423 square feet.
Ballroom: 38,058 square feet. Total space: 1,600,000 square feet. I don’t know what all those numbers mean, but I think
it’s a lot of space! With 500-plus educational sessions, 115,085 registrants, 7,000 brands, and nearly 2,000 exhibiting
companies on The NAMM Show Campus, you know someone is gonna get laid…and all with great stories to “kiss and
tell”!

NAMM Show is one of the largest music product trade shows in the world, founded in 1901. It is held every January, as
mentioned, in California at the Anaheim Convention Center. In addition, a smaller show, Summer NAMM, takes place
each July in Nashville, Tennessee. And then there’s the medium-size NAMM in Russia.
