MH: Speaking of other social medias, I just saw a brand-new music video of you on YouTube, ‘Night
Vision.’ Would you share a little about your video/song and what the back story is? Great song, by
the way.
DTCM: Thank you so much! I wrote ‘Night Vision’ around the beginning of quarantine. It was a really quick
process. I started off with the drums, finished them in an hour or so, then went on to finishing the guitar parts
the next hour (without any lyric/vocal ideas), gave myself the rest of the day to chill, then went on to finish the
vocals the next day or a couple days after…I can't remember. The song is basically just a reflection of my old
ways and habits in the previous years with drugs and alcohol. I was living a pretty hectic life and I was
constantly poisoning my body and spirit with substances without a care in the world. All I cared about was
sleeping through the day so I can make it to the nighttime where I could go to the bar, or a basement, or
anywhere I could get well. All I had was night vision. Ha-ha, get it? I'm now almost 2 years sober, and though
the song really isn't about getting through addiction or finding a way out, I hope people can hear my words
and maybe identify with it as well and do what they need to do to live their best life.
MH: Could there possibly be an album in the making?
DTCM: I don't even know, to be honest. The game is crazy
nowadays. I feel like people’s attention spans for music isn't
what it used to be. I like the idea of releasing singles and EPs
until enough people are DEMANDING an album. Which is
funny to even think about. But I definitely wanna keep
dropping songs however I can!
