JM: We have been fortunate enough to be nominated and either become finalists or winners for a lot of
different award shows. I still can't believe that we have won some of the awards we have. It's a great feeling
when people like the art you create enough to award you for it!
MH: What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?
RM: Well, for my ‘day job,’ I'm a novelist. So, when I'm not on the road with VEER, I'm on the road doing book
signings. For a while there, it seemed I was living in a suitcase. This pandemic has curtailed all of that,
however, and now I'm back home.
JM: When I am not playing with VEER, I am dealing with my business. I own Freestate Custom Guitars and
build handmade guitars as well as custom cables and accessories. We are always staying busy.
MH: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any
upcoming shows?
RM: So many venues have been great to us. Fish Head Cantina in Arbutus, Maryland, has become like a
second home to us. Our last show before the pandemic was at Baltimore Soundstage, just a fantastic venue
and we had a killer turnout. It was a great show! It was also slated to be our last for a while so that we could
get into the studio and work on our next record. Who knew at the time just how portentous that was?
