Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens is no less integral on drums, driving with more force and funk than
you pick up on a studio recording. He has a unique style of playing (and dress) which also compliments
G. Love with vocals throughout. These 2 parts of the trio are the original sauce and clearly the chemistry
is part of what makes the sound what it is.

G. Love & Special Sauce got stronger with every selection, with a vibe in the room that kept pace and
yearned for more. They wrapped up the regular set with their best known “Cold Beverage,” which
opened up into quite an extended jam. Following that was an encore so long (over 45 minutes) that
they ended up listing it on their site as “set 2.” Of course, they worked in “Fly Eagles Fly” one more time
for the spirited Philly crowd!
