Life is full of challenges. Some small. Some large. Life also offers no guarantees. Music reflects life as it exudes
the emotion of the performers. At least it does so in the truly great ones. I have witnessed bands implode due
to life issues, over and over again. I have heard every stupid reason in the books and plenty of real reasons
too. Life can get in the way…and music can fade, if you give up.

Let me lay something on the line -- it is easy to see and hear real passion and dedication from an artist. Roses
& Cigarettes not only do that every single day with their music; they also do so with their lives. Their love is a
bond that holds it all together. When the ladies are on stage you can see that in their quick glances and bright
smiles…against all odds.

Lead singer Jenny Pagliaro has Stage IV breast cancer. She has been battling this wicked disease the past
couple years. Angela Petrilli has been there by her side all the way through it. The multitude of surgeries,
chemo treatments and radiation has not stopped Roses & Cigarettes at all. They perform their hearts out,
both on stage and online consistently. They have every reason in the world to stop and fight quietly. Why
though? Especially when there is so much living to do! There is so much emotion to let out. They choose to
pour it all over the stage.

Yes, life can be cruel…or at least seem that way due to reasons we cannot comprehend. Jenny and Angela are
an inspiration. See them live whenever you can and experience real passion, dedication and love in all of its
full glory!
