JC: My tour is my sanity. I go crazy when I sit still. I have a severe case of gypsy wanderlust and
I’m pretty sure it’s killing my husband.

TB: Outside of money, what is the biggest struggle for indie artists?

JC: Getting your music heard is hands down the biggest struggle. I could list a flurry of things that
are damned near impossible as an indie artist, but I’m more focused on making those things ‘less
impossible.’ I want to find the loopholes. The entire business, as we’ve always known it, has
changed and there are still just a few of these pesky old-school ways of doing things that are still
holding on. I’d like to see those things changed. But in order, here are the hardest things for an
indie artist to achieve in no particular order: Getting your music heard (this includes airplay and
press). Getting press or a PR company to actually work on promoting you, even when you’re
paying. Getting a booking agency that really pays attention to your brand and sets you up with
appropriate co-touring bands and knows how to route you in a way you aren’t dying on the
interstates. Getting a club that books touring bands just like yours in their clubs in cities you pull
more of a crowd to take you seriously because you’re 'not on a label’ or 'with a booking agency.’

TB: Bucket list venue to play and why?

JC: Red Rocks – obviously the most incredible experience. Shiprocked Cruise – mainly, I just
want to play a cruise and be with my friends. Madison Square Garden – pipe dream, but I never
count them out. Wembley – because that’s the pinnacle. The Caverns – because why wouldn’t I
want to play in a cave somewhere? That’s so rad!

TB: What can fans look forward to from Jasmine Cain in 2024?

JC: You’ve got a new album to look forward to! Coming March 2024, we will be launching our
eighth independent album, 'Attitude is Everything.’ We’ve released four singles leading up to this
moment and we’re thrilled to offer it through our distribution company 'Symphonic Distribution’ on
digital format (CD), vinyl, and of course, download. It’s available everywhere you stream or
download music including our website https://jasminecain.com. We have activated our 'Street
Team’ this year and are offering fun perks for members that sign up. It’s kind of like a fan group,
but it’s very interactive and we’re really having fun getting to know our fans a little better. You can
join by going to https://go.jasminecain.com/join. Our Patreon page has been killing it here lately.
We upload regular videos and even webchats! The higher tiers are getting some pretty regular
art pieces from me, since I love to create artwork out of whatever inspires me out there. We
perform at a lot of beach areas, so you’re getting a lot of ocean artwork right now and I’ve always
been fascinated with bones, so there’s always the occasional dark art pieces in there,
too…handwritten lyrics, sheet music, and I even made them robot characters for our music video
'Attitude is Everything,’ which you can see here: https://youtu.be/CdLYDB_Sf2A. Join us on

I listened to several of her songs as I was preparing for this interview, and I fell in love with her
music. I am definitely looking forward to hearing the new album when it comes out. Jasmine has
been around for a while, and unfortunately, has not gotten the major airplay some of her songs
deserve. Check out her website and look at her tour schedule. If she is coming to a town near
you, get out and see her!
