Jasmine is the daughter of Nicole C. Mullen
and David Mullen, both Christian music
singers and Dove Award winners. You can
definitely hear the gospel influence in The
New Respects music that they have perfectly
mixed with soul and a 70s rock vibe. A sound
they call, "pop, soul, and rock 'n' roll."
Every song in their arsenal made you feel
every type of emotion. Whether it was the
hard-hitting songs “We Ain't Goin'
Nowhere,” “Freedom,” and “Trouble” that
made you feel like you could face the world,
or the songs “Come As You Are” and “What
Makes The World” that held you in a warm
embrace after the world knocked you on your
butt…they kept you entranced the whole
night they were on the stage.
As they finished up their opening set, it was
obvious the crowd wanted more. This
enthralling young band had just played
Colorado's famed Red Rocks just a month
before and would appear there a month later,
each time opening for a bigger band. In-
between the Red Rock shows, they released
their 1st album, "Before the Sun Goes
Down,” and before the year was over, they
would come back one more time to open for
a band in Colorado.
It's easy to see why Rolling Stone Magazine
named The New Respects “One of the Top 10
Bands to Watch in 2018” …because in 2019,
they're going to be headliners!
