God Damn Evil! Christian metal is back at the Rialto Theater
(Tucson, AZ) and with a vengeance! STRYPER hit the stage tonight
performing several new songs in support of their latest hard
rock/metal album along with many of their classic hits. I’ve been
following these guys since my first show with them back in
December of 1985. Original members of the band were solid
tonight, with Robert Sweet on drums. Oz Fox on guitars, and
Michael Sweet on lead vocals and guitars, and newcomer, former
                                                  Firehouse bass player, Perry Richardson.

At first, I wasn’t too sure if Oz Fox was going to be on stage tonight
since he was hospitalized recently due to a serious illness during the
past few weeks prior and unable to make the tour. My thoughts
and prayers were with Oz and his family and wished him a speedy
recovery. But low and behold, there he was. Blazing fingers, searing
                                                  guitars leads, and all!

Now close to 36 years strong, Stryper is still hotter than hell on
stage. Gone are those crazy bumblebee stage clothes. Although
their instruments and stage props still shout yellow and black
attack. Formed in 1983 as Roxx Regime, the band not only changed
their name to Stryper but also, their music message reflecting
their Christian beliefs…and it was loud and clear tonight.
