Chevelle was formed in 1995 in Illinois by the Loeffler brothers -- Pete, on lead
vocals and guitar; Sam, on drums and percussion; and Joe, on bass and backing
vocals. Named for the brothers’ affinity for fast cars, Chevelle, is also named to
pay honor to their father whose favorite car is the Chevrolet Chevelle.
To date, the Loeffler brothers together have released one demo, “The Blue
Album,” and three albums, “Point #1,” “Wonder What’s Next,” and “This Type of
Thinking (Could Do Us In).” Joe Loeffler left the band in 2005, eventually being
replaced by Dean Bernardini, Pete and Sam’s brother-in-law.
Chevelle is working on their next album, which is anticipated to be out sometime
in 2019. The album’s theme is about populating another planet…Mars.
Not ones to rest on their musical laurels, the band is expanding on their brand and
are also in the works with a Chicago-based brewing company to put out their own
beer.
