When I got word from the AVA crew that Brenton Wood
was coming back to Tucson, I sent a quick email to my
friend and contact Malory at Zion and Zion in Phoenix
and asked her to put me down for that show. Not only
was Wood performing that evening, but 4 Latin legends
from the sixties and seventies were also sharing the
stage: Malo, El Chicano, Thee Midniters, and
Tierra…all legends that produced timeless classics.
This night, it sounded like Art Laboe was on the radio
playing these iconic bands’ music once again.
