Hailing from Buffalo, New York, singer/songwriter Mindy Davey packs a musical punch --
delivering a positive message that is wrapped in thoughtful lyrical content. Perhaps it is her
relatability that resounds with her fans, but whatever the winning formula, the music world
is taking notice of this talented songstress. In 2017, her growing popularity led to her
attaining a career milestone when she won the America's Got Talent “Front Of The Line
Pass” contest, racking up an impressive 48,000 votes. Not too shabby!
Mindy does most of her recordings at BadTone Productions, which is located in GCR Audio
(www.gcraudio.com), a premier recording studio in Western New York. GCR Audio is
owned by Robby Takac, a founding member of the multi-platinum, multi-Grammy-
nominated group The Goo Goo Dolls, who have also appeared in the pages of ION Indie
Magazine.
Mindy recently recorded her latest single "Drifting Away" at Capitol Records Tower with
Billboard-charting producer Nathan Walters. She followed that up with a trip to Nashville,
Tennessee, where she shot the music video for "Drifting Away" with Grammy-nominated
director Israel Anthem. Currently, Mindy is working on her next EP, titled "Destiny.” She will
be releasing singles from the album for the next several months until the album is complete.
Between releases of singles from “Destiny,” she will also be tantalizing her fanbase with a
smattering of cover songs.
I had the opportunity to chat with Mindy Davey and learn more about what drives this hard-
working indie artist, her journey thus far, and the road she’s set to travel.
