JP: Your new CD, South by South Dakota, just dropped earlier this year. Do you have a
favorite track off of the CD?
RK: Not really, I love them all. This is the first time I can actually say they are all great songs since
I didn’t write any of them. You know a song that’s special is the Outlaws’ song Ghost Riders in the
Sky, because Henry Paul produced that when we were known as the Badlands House Band.
JP: You recently signed on with independent label HighVol Music. Why High Vol?
RK: I’ve known Bill Chavis for a while, and it feels like we have the same vision.
JP: There is a duet on South by South Dakota with Jasmine Cain, whom I’ve interviewed.
She was featured on Don’t Misunderstand Me. Will we ever see you perform that together on
stage?
