3. now pass the tip under the two strands and up through the
middle hole.
4. Pull the loop up through the hole and snug everything up. The
finished butterfly can take load from many directions and still
untie with relative ease.
The following alternative method for tying the butter-
fly does indeed work. But many people find remem-
bering the sequence a difficult task. And the resulting
loop is always one size.
