Temperature (26-28OC), humidity, light, pH, should be controlled for most cultures.
The cultures may be grown in light (using fluorescent tubes) or sometimes
photoperiods are used to induce the production of certain metabolites. This means

alternating programs of lightening and dark exposure of the cultured cell.

Aeration is important in case of suspension cultures and supplied by agitation or
shaking. Rotary shakers are used to introduce air into the cells suspended in the

medium.
