                                                                      III-Diterpene alkaloids (Taxol)

                 I- Alkaloids of the phenylalkylamine group

The principle alkaloids of this group which have pharmacological activity are
                                         Ephedra, Cathe, Peyote and Capcicum alkaloides.

                                        1- Ephedra alkaloids
                                                                                               Ephedrine

         Ephedrine occurs in E. sinica and in E. equisetina and associated with d--
                                                                             ephedrine in E. vulgaris.
