Aerobic Respiration

• The net equation for cellular respiration is:

• Glucose is a high-energy molecule; CO2 and H2O are low-energy
    molecules; cellular respiration is thus exergonic because it
    releases energy.

• Electrons are removed from substrates and received by oxygen,
    which combines with H+ to become water.

• Glucose is oxidized while O2 is reduced.
