Potentiometry

- Analysis by Measuring Electrode Potentials
- It is an electro-analytical method in which electrode potential is

 correlated to concentration of analyte
- The potential is measured without drawing a current from the

 electrochemical cell (Galvanic)

Potentiometric measurements:

Potentiometric measurements are made using a potentiometer

Potentiometer
A device for measuring the potential of an electrochemical cell
without drawing a current or altering the cell’s composition.

           It has three parts:
- Indicator electrode (selective for the analyte of interest) ---

       works as cathode (right half-cell).
