Photosystem I
It contains P700 reaction center, that maximally absorbs 700 nm
light. The Low energy electrons reaching PSI are re-energized and move
through electron carriers at the stromal side to be used to reduce NADP+
to NADPH.
Summary of Photosystem I & II
1) Photo II ATP + O2
Photo I NADPH
2) The two compounds NADPH and ATP are the chemicals in
which the energy absorbed as light by chloroplasts is first stored
as chemical energy.
3) Energy stored in these two compounds is involved in reduction
of CO2 and formation of sugar in the dark reaction.
4) Oxygen is liberated.
