Types of Chemical markers
•Ogston model treats the
polymer matrix as a sieve.
•A protein or A DNA moves
through the interconnected
pores of gel matrix.
• The movement of larger
molecules is more likely to
be slowed down by
collisions with the gel
matrix.
•The molecules of
different sizes can
therefore be separated in
this sieving process.
