Your responsibility as a pharmacist in
dispensing Dietary Supplements:
•During your consultation with a patient pay a
particular caution to the following:
Dietary supplements are popular for self-treatment, so you should
inform the patient that Dietary Supplements are pharmacologically
active and should be treated as if they are conventional medicine.
They should be only used for minor, self limiting diseases such
as common cold or temporary relief of mild anxiety.
Don’t use DS along with prescribed medicine due to risk of
interaction, unless they are known to be safe together.
