 Heavy metals are added intentionally and
   declared as ingredients within some Asian
   medicineformulations .

 The Chinese Pharmacopoeia, for example,
   includes monographs for arsenic disulfide,
   mercurouschloride , redmercuricoxide ,and
   includes formulations for fiftyproducts that
   includeoneormoreofthesesubstances.

 Inacasereported1998,deathofa13-year–old
   girlfrom arsenicpoisoninghasbeenlinkedwitha
   Chineseherbalproduct.
